This tutorial shows you how people unlock any modem to make it a universal modem and how people are using MTN BIS subscription to browse on their Modem. We don’t advise or encourage you to unlock any modem. If you do so, you indemnify us from any legal consequences of such action. We also do not encourage you to use your BIS to browse on your computer. This tutorial is for educational purposes only. It shows you how people are using the N1500 per month MTN BIS for fast and unlimited Internet Access. 

In this tutorial, we will learn how to use the MTN N1500 per month BIS subscription on our Internet modem for browsing on a computer. You don’t need to buy a new modem. You can use the modem you are currently using (MTN fast link, Airtel, Glo, Etisalat Modems). The first thing you need to do is to unlock your modem.

After Unlocking your modem, you can use that modem as a universal modem to browse with any SIM card.

 What you are about to learn is something some people are using to make money from others.

How to Unlock a Modem

To unlock any modem, you need the Universal Master Code software. This software is available for Free. Use this link to download the software for free

• When you get your Universal Mater Code software, open it and a pop-up window as shown below will show: 

• Insert the IMIE code (written on the modem or on the back of the modem) space provided, then click on calculate.

• Write out the code that appears on the UNLOCK textbox.

• Insert a different sim card than the one that comes with the modem. EG if it is an MTN modem, insert an AIRTEL or ETISALAT sim card or vice versa and then connect to the system. On loading, a request for unlock code would be requested. When that happens, insert that unlock code which u have written down before….. There u have your modem unlocked for any sim card.

Blackberry cheat on modems

Your Normal Blackberry Internet Subscription (BIS) gives you access to browsing with UNLIMITED Downloads on your blackberry phone. You can use this same BIS service to browse with your modem on your laptop if you do not have a blackberry. Even if you have a blackberry, browsing on your laptop is always better than a blackberry device. In this tutorial, you will learn how people are using the blackberry cheat for unlimited browsing with their computer without a blackberry phone.

• Insert your MTN modem (or unlocked modem with MTN SIM card) on a system and when it loads a page as shown below appears.

• click on Tools and then click on options, a new window will pop-up as shown below

  

• click on Profile Management and see a new window as shown below

 • At this point, click on the tab New. Fill in the Profile name with whatever you may choose as the name. 

• At the point where you see APN, click on static and then insert this access point: blackberry.net

• Access number should be left untouched if the above numbers are seen there already otherwise insert these figures: *99#

• User name and password should be same: mtn • At this point, you’ll click on the Advance tab n proceed to a new window as shown below: 

 • Now go to where you see DNS Settings, click on Static and then type the IP addresses  Primary DNS: 10.199.212.120  Secondary DNS:  83.143.8.220 as seen above in Primary DNS and Secondary DNS respectively.  

• When this is done, you can then click OK. • 

 • It then takes u back to the previous window which is the Option window, there you’ll click on SAVE and then SET AS DEFAULT, then you click OK.

• It then takes you back to the first window which is the home window, there you’ll see the CONNECT tab.

  

But before you connect, make sure the sim card has being subscribed to blackberry subscription and that is done by the normal way u subscribe for BIS on your blackberry mobile phones.   When this is done, you are now fully prepared to enjoy 24hrs unlimited downloads for a month.

As at the time of creating this course (2012 Democracy Day), this method works 100 percent. If have any issue, recheck the procedure to ensure that you did everything right.

Aside:

Now there some slight differences when we use AIRTEL modem as our device. The terms used there are the only things which are different. So this is to apply the cheat using AIRTEL modem.

 • Click on Settings and then Click on Add. The window below would then appear. 

• Here Config name is used instead of Profile Name as used in MTN. So same thing happens, choose whatever name you prefer

• Insert the dial number which remains *99#. Before you can add a username and password here, first click on the checkbox “Save User Name and Password” then you can add them.

• Click on the checkbox “Use the following APN name” then type in “blackberry.net”

• Click on the “Use the following DNS server address” and then type in the same IP addresses respectively, click on OK. It takes you back to the previous window then click on set as default.

• Finally, you click on the Connection Tab and there you go, you browsing starts.
